Hi there! I say to all my fellow graduate classmates, especially those students who are new to the program, I suggest brushing up on your organization skills. Depending on your specific type of learning style, it might be a good idea to set up some sort of chart or other categorizing system, for a better understanding of all the theories. If your are knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel you could design an outline that includes: the theory, theorist name, type of theory, key words and concepts, assessments, age group, and other information you feel is important. Through construction of a chart, new information learned for old can new theories and simply be added. The finish product is a great tool for preparing for comps and gaining a better understanding of the theories and their functions.
